This is the Blog Section of Table Topics Bootcamp. Here is where you get to read the opinions and views of others, evaluate them, and share your own. It is in the crucible of communication that change will foment and progress will prevail. A page will initially be reserved for a single post so that the responses entered in the “LEAVE A COMMENT” section can be related… Eventually, a web of threads will be woven, and hopefully, the truth will not be trapped.
If you are making a statement that you believe to be factual, we ask that you at least suggest that. Perhaps quoting an authority, or at least a source could help. But even then, your reader may decide to treat your utterance merely as your opinion. That is his or her right, as much as it is yours. But express yourself nevertheless in a professional and respectful way.
Initially, this section of the site will not be moderated, but it will be monitored. Only Toastmasters are allowed to post on this site. That is all the protection we need. Our core values of Integrity, Respect, Excellence, and Service will do the rest.
I take the opportunity to thank the organizers for providing such a forum. While I do not shy away when called upon to do a table topic, I am still not as confident as I should be after so many years as a Toastmaster. Hopefully, I will learn all the tips to be a better table topic speaker. Mind you, outside of Toastmasters, I do extremely well.
